11/12/13 not much news as yet, baby is comfirmed as being in kit and due to give birth anytime now so just playing the waiting game. will be so happy when these kits arrive should be some nice babies to show through 2014 as their sire is snowflake whos a completly new line that ive never worked with before so its all very exciting
28-11-13 all has been quite on the front of late. We are taking a slight brake from showing at the moment due to breeding. our first litter of lionheads for a long while shall be arriving shortly and we are very very excited as o what may come out having used a completly new and unrelated buck but we are hoping that we will have some very nice youngster to show during 2014.
COMING SOON: my mum has decided to start showing/breeding rabbits too but has taken on the difficult task of a completly new breed to the uk. she has aquired a pure bred trio of velveteen lops. pictures and more details shall be added shortly.
6-10-13 alot has over happened the last few months, we are now based and living in sandbach cheshire for the moment and are no longer breeding nethies due to disqualifiable fault in one of the lines so due to limited space it was not viable to keep breeding them knowing that i was breeding a fault into my lines. we have gained 2 new lionheads, blossom a chocolate self doe, who is babys brothers grandaughter and a completly unrelated REW buck snowflake who was bred by barlow bunnies. The lionheads will be bred at somepoint in the next few months to gain an U/5 show team for next years shows.
24-07-13 I am pleased to announce the safe arrival of 2 very healthy litters from flow and lucy. all kits and mums are doing very well and shall have photos added once they are more mobile.
the end of july will be a big time for me and the rabbits as I will be starting a new job and moving home all at the same time. I will no longer be living in northwich Cheshire but shall be moving to Ludlow in Shropshire, hopefuly this move will be the start of a bigger and brighter future for me and my rabbits.
10-7-13- we are no longer breeding lionhead rabbits and all stock has now been moved on. my beloved baby has and will remain her with me as a much loved pet and she will be shown as and when to eventually gain her championship. we now only have the breeding trio of netherland dwarfs left here who may have to be moved on shortly due to new work meaning I would be unable to take them with me. again I will be keeping my old man jasper, baby and lucky (my rescued lop) should I have to rehome the rabbits.
we have 2 litters due this week of netherland dwarfs so keep a close eye out for them- they should be stunning.
11-06-13 we are now cutting right back on our lionheads so that we only have a trio of our very best at home, so some lionhead will be available- please see the for sale/rehoming page for lionheads that are available- both adults and babies.
we had an outstanding time at the Stafford show gaining the CC out of 7 lionheads in total in the lionhead class, so we got best of breed at that show, that's another CC added to babies numbers, wont be long now before she gains her diploma/championship.
22-05-12 the next few months shall be an amzing experiance for us here at liannes rabbitry. all of the summer shows are just around the corner with the first show of the season being stafford show where we are taking just 3 lionheads baby and ruby. After this will be the grt eccleston show where the northern lionhead stock show will be held- the first of it kind. at this show will be our babies first time out and i have high hopes for them doing well. we also have 2 litters of netherland dwarfs due in the next few weeks- our first litter in 2 yrs :)
30-04-13 wow what an amazing month it has been. we have now got a grand total of 3 netherland dwarfs with 2 smokes and a sable sourced from very good lines. our lionhead rosie gave borth to 5 amazing little babies who are all healthy and developing well, this litter was sired by milo so the standards for these babies are very high. i hope to ring all babies who will make theyre first debute at the grt eccleston show where the national lionhead club is hosting its first ever northern stock show.
some very exciting thing to be looking forward too.
21-03-13 a good start to the year with my rabbits and i hope that we continue to progress the way we are doing. out youngsters have attneded theyre first show and proved to be popular with the judges gaining 2nd/8 against argenties in an AOF class then gaining best AOF and 2nd best u/5 fancy in show, fantastic results.
we hope to gain much more wins this year but will be taking april and may off, but we will be back in full swing in june/july once our youngster have matured out a bit and mums have grown back the manes that they pulled out for nesting.
we also welcome back the netherland dwarf to my stud starting off with a beautiful sable doe. i will be focusing on sables and smokes with a higher preferance of smokes, my first love of the colour bought about by my stunning old man jasper.
22-01-13 well we started the new year with 3 smashing new litter and what a suprising aray of colour we have had. i shall be out and about at local shows from febuary and will be out in full force from mid march where i shall be out with all my adult rabbits and my newest babies, so will be an exciting time to see how we get on at the shows and maby even get the lionhead rabbits a bit more of a reputation in the northwest :)
i have started to decide which babies i shall be keeping and which are going so please keep an eye on the for sale/rehoming page for latest updates.
29-12-12 Merry christmas and a Happy new year!
i have lots of litters popping up and an adult or 2 looking for new homes due to me running out of space and doing a slight reshuffle.
all rabbits are doing very well and we are just chilling before we start to hit the shows from febuary :)
1/12/12 a very busy time of the year for everyone, but what a wonderful time of year it is for us here. we have done some matings recently and hope to have 3 litter on the way in december so that the babies will be old enough to start to go to shows throughout spring/summer :)
our new boy ben has been mated to baby, april and rose so we are expecting an aray of new colour here which will be a nice change with at least 3 babies staying here with me, all babies which i am unable to keep will be advertised on here at around 3-5 weeks old and then once i have made my mind up on the few remaining babies they will be avaliable for reservaton from 8 weeks old, theyre may also be 1/2 babies avaliable at 10-12 weeks old to so please keep poping back.
obviously each doe may only have just one baby so any sale of a baby bun will be on a firt come first served basis so please if you would like a certain colour/sex fill in my waiting list application form and you will be contacted as soon as i have made a discision for first choice.
towards the middle/end of 2013 we may see the rearrival of netherland dwarfs and the creation of a rare colour in lionheads being simease smoke pearl and smoke pearl marten.
5/11/12 we have had a fab few weeks here in my stud. we had a very good time at the london show getting highly placed with milo, who was only just 12 weeks old and mid moult beating older u/5 and narrowly missing the CC to a lovely older lionhead. i was also suprised with rosie who did very wll gaining 4/6 which i didnt expect due to her being moulty and looking a bit on the larger side, but to my suprise she did very well and i am over the moon with her.
we have gained 2 new rabbit and unfortinatly moved a lovel bun on to a new home. you will find details of the new rabbits under the buck and does page, going by the names of ben and sweet pea. timmy has now been moved on to another show home over the seas where he is continuing to do very well in shows and in due time will be producing babies of his own.
18-09-12 unfortinatly theyres not alot to say in this news thread ;/
We've been getting ready for the big london show in the 12/13th october 2012 and so have not had much time to do much else.
babys kit has had a unexpected sex change to a boy and has been called milo, he is maturing very well and is such a handsom lad with an amazing mane like his mum:)
all the rabbits are doing very well and all the image of health, such a shame i still havint got my driving lessons sorted out properly to take them out around the country to shows as theyre all looking smashing at the moment and they seem wasted here with me at the moment.
2/8/12 things have been very busy here of late leaving me not to much time to update things on here. in the last week of july goodbye to both quinne and george who have been rehomed to very good pet homes where they will live out the rest of their lives with the freedom of the garden to roam, or in the case of george the house!!
as of the 3rd of august i shall be reciving 3 new stacks of hutchs which will allow me to expand my stock by 5 rabbits although i shall be leaving 1/2 of these hutchs spare 'just incase' ;)
babys little kit has now been sexed as a female, and is doing very well always asking for cuddles and being the most mischevious little rabbit i have ever known.
i shall have a new rabbit joining me on the 7th aug, a little agouti doe from a fellow show breeder, this littles girl i have decided with be called rosie. She is agouti in colour and upto now she is looking very promising and shall make a valuable asset to my stud :)
In october i shall be attending the london show, i am currently in the process of reserving 3 new rabbits from tirowen stud, 2 does and an unrelated buck. these stunning babies will complete my stud allowing me to progress another 4/5generations into my own lines constantly outcrossing to ensure my lines and their gene pool stay as pure as possiable leading to healthier babies and hopefuly bringing me 1 step closer to the 'ideal' rabbit :)
19/7/12 well quinnes kits have come along a dream and are now 12 weeks old. after much deliberation i have decided to rehome george and quinne to enable me to get in new stock to continue my lines and ensure i can keep them as pure as possiable to my knowlage.
I am very pleased to announce the safe arrival of 1 chocolate self kit from baby. at present the little kit is just 6 days onld so still early days but seems to be very strong and is double maned, i will be keeping hold of this kit.
i have been unable to get to any shows this month, which is very unfortinate but due to myself not yet having a driving license i depend on family taking me to and back from shows. so need to respect their own time and try and work around them.
please check out my avaliable page too see what i have avaliable at present.
3/6/12 well it sure has been a long time since i have updated my website so i better get to the point and keep it short :)
well quinnes babies have continued to progress and are looking super to this point. she has given me a slight range in size with a large choc torte boy, whome ill have to keep an eye on to ensure he doesnt get to big for show although i think he will stay well within limits. the little choc boy is super type and will be a nice tiny boy and the choc point girl will be smack bang in the middle and just right for size.
i will be attending the staffordshire county show with quinnes son coco
20/4/12 quinne who i had not planned on mating but escaped out of her run in to the garden with jojo- has had a litter of 3 healthy fat babies born 20/4/12 their colours are chocolate self, seal point and orange. again they are growing and progressing very well and i hope to be keeping most of the 2 litters- for the time being only the mismarked chocolate would be avaliable to a good home when he/she is 8 weeks old.
i am very upset to announce that the little broken choc kit from babies litter has passed away- i am very unsure as to why but i found him snuggling up to his mum away from the nest and he was cold to touch so i brought him indoors to warm up which was working but he continued to apear lifeless and passed away at 3pm
28-03-12 through out april and may i expect it will be a busy time i have a few litters due including peruvian guinea pigs!! i have so far been to one show with the rabbits of which all did very well and i couldnt be more chuffed with my little bunnies. the kits from jojo-quinne mating have matured very nicely most of all being a little chocolate buck, coco, whome will be staying here. unfortinatly i have decided to rehome his sister in the hope that when i next mate quinne she will produce a nicer doe that is of a standerdized colour and carried a more dense mane. the little doe will be joing littlesea lops shortly where she will help them continue a line of chocolate points that they are working on, i am sure she will be very happy with this little girl as she has fab type and carries the dense mane i strive for in my lionheads.
my homebred doe blossom (babys litter sister) now owned by JB rabbitry has won a 5* CC at the bradford excel show this weekend (28th/29th jan 2012)- well done!!
Quin had a succesful litter of 2 kits on the 30th december 2011. both are super healthy and turning out to be very nice kits. keep an eye out on the in the nest page for updating pictures of them as they grow and develop. one kit is chocolate point and the other is a chocolate self :)
quin and jojo have now been mated so i am expecting some lovely type kits on the 28th december 2011:)
28-11-13 all has been quite on the front of late.
